M/s ADD Energy entrusted BHEC to work out an alternative considering diversion of 34 cumec from the tailrace of the existing Varuna SHEP directly to Cauvery River through pipe embedded in proposed Escape at existing Varuna Canal. The present proposal of rehabilitation of the Varuna Canal at this stretch will result in restoration of the Varuna Canal as per original Hydraulic Particulars and also increase the power generation in VCPH.

The work involves designing special components to lead tail race discharges partially to the Irrigation canal and partially back into the river. The work involves liaising with CNNL design engineering team for approvals.
