The Chinnar Hydro Electric Project is located in Idukki district, Kerala State. This project is a runoff the river scheme proposed for utilizing the power potential of Perinjankutty River. This project has an installed capacity of 2x12MW with a static head of 270m with design discharge of 6.4cumec/unit. The Kerala State Electricity Board, as the project owner, along with the contractor SSIPL, approached BHEC to provide design services.

Bangalore Hydro Engineers & Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (BHEC) has delivered hydraulic design of penstock and its related designs like expansion joints, bends, rocker supports and manhole for the scheme.
