Tigadi LIS

Tigadi LIS in Tigadi village Gokak taluk, was originally planned around year 1989-90 to lift water from Malaprabha River for irrigating about 804 Ha (HLC) and 400Ha (LLC) in Belagavi District. Civil works including intake well, pump house, manifold, rising mains, delivery chamber, and electromechanical installations have been completed.

The project now requires recommissioning and renovation to operate the pump house at its rated capacity. A site inspection by Bangalore Hydro Engineers & Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (BHEC), along with Minor Irrigation department officials, identified that civil structures need urgent repairs due to widespread damage, though some cracks may have stabilized.

Non-destructive testing was recommended to assess structural health. Mechanical and electrical components need replacement, including pumps which have been inoperable for years; motor replacement is proposed after evaluation. A single MS rising main will feed one delivery chamber.

The project is environmentally friendly with no adverse impacts on surrounding areas. BHEC provides comprehensive planning and design services for its restoration. This is one of several projects successfully undertaken by BHEC for the Minor Irrigation Department mostly spread across Northern Part of Karnataka.
